Once again, Northampton County will be holding it’s Annual Open Gate Farm Tour. This year it will be held October 6th & 7th, 2012 from Noon tp 4:00PM.
The farms will open their gates this weekend for the public to visit their facilities. Each farm will offer either demonstrations, tours, information, food, etc.
The following farms will be on the tour:
Amore Farms – 7054 Beth Bath Pike, Bath – Greenhouses
Bangor School District Grassland Initiative – 726 Orchard Rd., Mt. Bethel – Environmental learning center
Burnside Plantation – 1461 Schoenersville Rd., Bethlehem – (Saturday ONLY) 6 1/2 acre farm museum of farm life from mid 18th to mid 19 centuries
Buzas Greenhouses – 2937 Newburg Rd., Easton – Family owned & operated greenhouse
Clear Spring Farm – 206 Garr Rd., Easton – Vegetable farm and greenhouses
Heritage Hill Equestrian Center – 5257 Youngs Hill Rd., Easton – Horse boarding & lesson center
Hickory Grove Greenhouses – 1096 Milton St., North Catasauqua – Year round greenhouse
Juniperdale Farms – 1015 Browntown Rd., Nazareth – Family run farm with field crops and produce stand
Klein Farms – 410 Klein Rd., Easton – Working dairy farm with an onsite store selling their own raw milk, cheeses & yogurt
Northampton County Farm Bureau – 300 Bushkill St., Tatamy – Independent farm co-operative owned and governed by local farmers, but open to the public. Supplier ofagricultural, lawn & garden supplies to local communities.
Northampton County 4H Center – 777 Bushkill Center Rd., Nazareth – Focal point for 4H youth activities in the county, such as horse shows, clinics, club activities and annual 4H fair.
Point Phillips Perennials – 2764 W. Scenic Dr., Danielsville – 2 acres of garden composed of many unusual planats & perennials, trees & shrubs.
Purple Haze Alpacas – 790 Slate Belt Blvd., Bangor – Finest quality & best bloodline alpacas in the Northeast, offering best 100% fiber & yarn sweaters, hats, socks, shawls, etc.
Raub Farms – 1459 Tatamy Rd., Easton – Family owned farm offering fresh fruits and vegetables from June through December, and free range brown eggs year round.
R.C. Sons Garden Center & Greenhouses – 5880 Front St., Easton – Family owned & operated garden center & greenhouses
Seiple Farms – 5761 Nor-Bath Blvd., Bath – 5th generation farm celebrating over 120 years
Spring Valley Farms – 750 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Bangor – Preserved dairy farm with 80 cow free-stall barn & milking parlor, farm grown corn & hay.
Z Arch Barn Farm – 10 Klein Rd., Easton – Christmas tree farm
