It’s time to sell your home and move up to a larger property and home. So many real estate agencies out there with many, many agents to choose from. What should you do to find the right one for you??
First of all, what agency you use does not matter. Sure, some of the brokerages are found all over the nation and claim they are #1. Does that really make a difference? No. It’s not the firm that sells your property. It’s the individual agent that does all the work.
You may think the smaller firms are local and may not be able to reach consumers across the world. Not so. The smaller firms have marketing in place that will also reach many consumers all over the area. Here’s a perfect example: I am currently working with a family that is relocating to Eastern PA from Alaska. I’d say that’s quite a distance.
As I mentioned earlier, it’s the agent that makes the difference. How can you find one that will do the job for you and do it right? My suggestion is to interview several agents. Each agent is different and you should find one that is the right match for you.
Think of the agent as your employee. They have a job and it is to work for you to sell your home and/or find a home for you. They should be advising you and communicating with you on a regular basis. After all, they are the experts in their field.
Ask numerous questions at the interview to find out how knowledgeable they are and if they are a match for your needs. Working with an agent that specializes in that particular property type would be best. They have the expertise, the connections and the knowledge to assist you best.
Remember: Selling and buying real estate is not about a popularity contest. It’s about who can do the best job for you.
