Ride to Benefit Wounded Warriors.
The National Association of Competitive Mounted Orienteering will be holding a Patriotic Ride to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. It will be held April 27th, 2013 at the Bucks County Horse Park in Revere, PA.
The cost of the ride is $40 for non-NACMO members and $35 for NACMO members.
The ride will be sponsored by Elite Equestrian magazine. The staff at Elite Equestrian magazine wanted to find a way to give back to those who have served in the military. Editor, Noelle Vander Brink, and marketing director, Bill Vander Brink, felt a strong obligation to thank and support our troops for what they do.
NACMO is a sport that originated in the western US in the 1980’s. Teams of riders search an area using a map to find 3 clues in each area. Clues can be as natural as a big rock, or unnatural as a sign or boundary marker. Placings are determined by the number of clues found and time.
The teams will be in 4 categories: Open, Junior Riders, Family, and North of 50. Prizes will be awarded.
